I was born in St Helens and grew up in a small close knit mining community, with fond childhood and adolescent memories and experiences of time on my Uncle Tom's farm. I remember spending time with my dad whose passion and expertise in racing pigeons spurred me on to discover where my talents lay, which is in helping people to discover and develop acceptance for who they truly are and live a more enriched and contented life.
My initial Counsellor training started in 2004 and I graduated with a Level 4 Diploma 2006. Following this I qualified as a Hypno-Psychotherapist (Clinical Hypnosis combined with Psychotherapy), and further qualified as a Couples counsellor and Clinical Supervisor.
I supervise trainee and qualified counsellors and other professionals, having extensive experience working in the private and Local Authority sector, along with Employee Assistance Programs, G.P. and blue light services and voluntary sectors. I have worked full time as a counsellor for 17 years, the last 10 years full time as a self-employed counsellor.
